Change can be daunting, and particularly so when you decide to make those changes happen by doing something you may not have done before, in this case coaching. So to put your mind at ease, here is a little insight into how it works.
Our initial contact is simply a brief, informal chat - absolutely nothing to worry about - it's just so that you can find out more about us and we can find out more about you and what you'd like to achieve within coaching. If, after the chat, you feel that coaching is definitely right for you, we'll arrange our first session and we'll send you a workbook to help you capture your thoughts and begin the process of creating the changes in your life that you want to make - if you have any questions as you work through this, then just get in touch and we'll be happy to answer them.
Within our first session, we'll begin by looking in depth at those thoughts and ideas, use them to create specific and detailed goals, and begin to explore different ways of working towards them, including any challenges you think you may face along the way too. At the end of the first session, we'll help you to create a written plan of action, and set a date and time for our next session, but don't worry, we're here if you need to talk to us in between. Oh and we always suggest bringing a notebook and pen as there's plenty of thoughts and ideas you may want to jot down!
In each of the following sessions, we begin by reviewing the progress you've made on your action plan, and also discuss any areas within which you feel you haven't made as much progress as you would have liked. Again this analysis isn't anything to worry about, it just helps you understand the situation and, most importantly yourself that little bit more, and allows you to tweak aspects of your action plan moving forward. Reflection is an essential part of the process, and so the period in between sessions also provides an opportunity for you to note how you're feeling.
Finally, in our last session, we begin in a similar way but then move on to review the process as a whole, looking at the goals you set at the beginning and along the way, and have now reached. We reflect on your new reality and how living that authentic life feels, and consider the obstacles you overcame throughout the process and the new skills you've developed as you did so. Finally, we consider what happens next, including any further goals you'd like to achieve, and of course we take a little time to really think about and celebrate your incredible achievements.
