Co-working
If you work from home and need to ‘get out’ of the spare room, are in a business space but need time to focus on admin tasks, or if you simply miss the company of like-minded professionals, then co-working could be for you.

If you’ve tried other, more formal, structured or sector-focused business groups and gatherings, but didn’t feel they met all your business' criteria or just didn't feel 'right' for you, then give it a ‘go’… co-working is different!

  • It's informal – no suits, no pitch and no agenda – it’s your business and it's your space and time to work on it.
  • You can drop in and leave when you want – for the day or an hour… you can even pop in, out and back again.
  • Each co-work space is different but there’s always free wifi, parking and great food to buy in-house or nearby.
  • It's NOT networking, but a place to build and nurture your networks: to share expertise, experience and ideas.
  • And to build your business, through collaborative working, sharing information, news and views… and gossip!

They welcome a very diverse range of 'up and running' businesses but also those who are thinking about starting one and want to know what it’s like to take the plunge.  Just take a laptop or tablet, or a notebook and files if you prefer... you can often take a (quiet!) hands-on project if that's your business.

There are co-working groups - often called 'jellys' - all over the country and indeed all around the world, but setting up your own, based on the core principles, is really easy if you can't find one local to you.  Just find a venue that 'ticks the boxes' and tell everyone about it!
